Universal Maserati QP5 and GranTurismo Key Blanks

Universal key blanks for Maserati Quattroporte V (2005-2013) and GranTurismo/GranCabrio (2008-2019).  The key blade can be cut and transponder cloned by most locksmiths.  This is a low cost way to get a spare key.  The keys in these cars are generally difficult to program, so having a spare is important. 

Each key includes the metal blade with a molded plastic head and two different major brands of universal transponders. Although only one transponder is needed in the key, having two different brands gives the locksmith more options for the cloning.  Even most shade tree locksmiths should have the equipment to clone the key.

The transponders fits inside a carrier, which is pressed inside the key head.  A small dab of glue or silicone on the transponder can keep it from rattling inside the key.  The transponder carrier is difficult to remove from the key, so it is best to cut the blade, and clone the immobilizer first.  Then make sure the car starts by holding the transponder next to the key head.  Once starting is confirmed, inserting the carrier with the transponder inside the key head.

Note: These do not have a remote.  They can be made to mechanically open the doors and to start the car.  They can also open the trunk on the QPs (but not the GTs as they do not have an manual trunk lock).
