The original white-top fuel pump assemblies commonly develop leaks around the fuel pressure regulator. A strong gasoline smell in the trunk, followed by a fuel smell inside the passenger compartment, is a common sign of cracked plastic on the fuel pump. Bosch updated these assemblies with a dark yellow top, which should reduce the likelihood of these leaks.
These pumps are a direct fit for the Maserati 4200 and Ferrari 599 and 612. They are supplied with the fuel level sender installed. The sender can be removed, allowing the pump to be used on either side of the fuel tank.
One of these pumps is also fitted to our dual-pump 2005 Maserati Quattroporte manual conversion development car. Although the Quattroporte uses different Maserati part numbers (187571/187572), the pump is a direct fit and has functioned properly in our application.
Each fuel pump order includes the fuel pump retainer ring tool, making installation easier without the need for special tools.
